FAQ'S

How do I know if my dog needs a support harness?

Noticing signs of mobility loss in its earliest stages can help you and your veterinary professional make the right choices to help your pet and support their quality of life.

Subtle signs to look out for include; struggling to stand up, swaying back legs, reluctance to jump into and out of the car, refusing to climb stairs, scraping nails or dragging paws. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, we always recommend seeking advice from your vet who can guide you on the right type of support for your dog.

How to put on a dog harness

Each of our dog harnesses fits in a slightly different way. You’ll find instructions on your chosen harness page. Your harness will also arrive with fitting instructions. And, if you need any additional support, you can call our Customer Care Team on 01462 416 866 or email them at hello@yumove.com.

How should a dog harness fit?

Your dog’s harness should fit comfortably. It shouldn’t be too tight, or too loose. Follow the guidelines on the product page of the harness you’re buying to ensure you get the right size and fit. Still not sure? Call our Customer Care Team on 01462 416 866 or email them at hello@yumove.com for help.

Find out more about the Up-n-Go Support

A simple and easy-to-use solution to deliver light rear end support for dogs with temporary hind limb weakness and unsteadiness or for those with early signs of mobility impairment.

Use it for light support to help your dog stand from a laying down position, to help support with rear-end balance and with short sets of steps and stairs.

The Up-n-Go support combines a support handle lead with two support straps that sit under each leg. These are covered in neoprene wrapping for extra comfort.

Never suspend a dog in the air with the Up-n-Go Support, it’s meant for supporting, not lifting!

If you have any concerns about your dog’s mobility, we always recommend seeking the advice of your vet.

Find out more about the Support Sling

A light mid-body support for dogs recovering from surgery, or injury and to begin the rehabilitation process.

Use it for mid to light support to help your dog stand from a laying down position, to help support with walking and with steps and stairs.

The Support Sling is a band consisting of a washable denim exterior with a fleece interior that is super-soft against your dog’s skin. This band sits against your dog's tummy when in use to provide gentle support. It has two long handles that can be adjusted to suit each pet and their owner.

Never suspend a dog in the air with the Support Sling, it’s meant for supporting, not lifting!

Find out more about the Buddy Up Front Harness and the Buddy Up Rear Harness

Our most supportive and durable option for dogs with ongoing mobility limitations or impairments.

Each harness allows you to support a pet with weak front or back legs, to help your dog stand from a laying down position and to help support when walking. The Buddy Up Front and Buddy Up Rear Harness can also be used in combination (with included attachments), to help safely support a dog’s weight and lift them when needed. Individually the Harnesses are meant for support, not for lifting your dog into the air.

The harnesses include an inner breathable mesh designed with your pet’s comfort in mind and have sturdy top-handles to help you to support your dog’s front or rear legs.

If you have any concerns with your dog’s mobility, we always recommend seeking the advice of your vet.

How our mobility supports can help your dog

Dogs with mobility restrictions can find it harder to do the things they might once found easy – like jumping in and out of the car or getting up and down the stairs. But this doesn’t need to be the end of the fun you and your dog can have together.

Dog mobility supports – such as our leg support harnesses and body slings – can help your dog maintain their balance and stay active while being fully supported by you.

Whether they need support getting into the garden for a quick toilet break or getting into
the car as you can head off on your next adventure, our no-fuss harnesses and slings make life easy for both of you.

If you have any questions before buying any of our dog harnesses, our friendly Customer Care Team are waiting to help you. Call them today on 01462 416 866 or email them at hello@yumove.com.
